NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / September 22, 2022 / Manhattan West’s spectacular new variety venue midnight theatre, a significant investment by Dolphin Entertainment (NASDAQ: DLPN), kicked off its first season with a bang this week, kicking off Tuesday with Peacock’s premiere of new romantic comedy Meet Cute. The Midnight Theater red carpet was packed with global media covering the arrival of the movie stars Peter Davidson and Kaley Cuocoincluding Zosia Mamet, Rock Kohli and Evan Jonigkeit, who gathered at the theater for the screening.

On Wednesday night, a sold-out Midnight Theater kicked off its first season of programming presented by Mastercard with a special opening night that highlighted two distinctive themes – magic and music. His official NYC debut was a highly entertaining double whammy The Soul of Midnight and featured The Mingus Big Band preceded by the magic of Matthew Letelier and Eric Dittelman.

The Mingus Big Band is a Grammy-winning jazz ensemble celebrating the music of the composer and bassist Karl Mingus. Based in Brooklyn Matthew Letelier is an award-winning Chilean-American illusionist and mentalist with over 24 years of experience. Eric Dittelman combines amazing mind reading with stand-up and improv comedy. In 2012, he blew audiences away as NBC’s first mind reader America’s Got Talent where he was a top ten season seven finalist and the judges’ favorite.

Upcoming programs will include talent from the Broadway stage, comedy, music, DJs and other unique special events – including a showcase magic tonight on September 24 and British singer/songwriter Raye on November 7th (sold out).

At the end of November, the theater will premiere an original show called A Brief History of Magic. Written and produced by Midnight Theater Creative Director Warren Adcock, formerly of David Blaine Productions, stars the one-woman narrative magic show Holly James from Broadway (Moulin Rouge, Hamilton). Holly James’ character Cassandra will interact with history’s greatest magicians through the theater’s state-of-the-art digital walls and perform tricks taught to her by the greatest advisors in professional magic.

Midnight Theater’s stunning technological capabilities take performances to the next level. The 160-seat theater architecture features a fixed 270-degree immersive projection system to digitally transform the space’s decor and transport visitors anywhere as part of the narrative or needs of a performance. It has a number of built-in animated digital landscapes and also has real-time animated environments that react to music. As a multimodal theatre, the space can be arranged with versatile audiovisual systems and customizable acoustics for cabaret, comedy, music, magic, podcast recording, ensembles and more. It also offers full broadcast and live streaming capabilities. The Midnight Theater is also the new home of Mastercard’s innovative multi-sensory studio, including dedicated entertainment and taste experiences.

An escape from everyday life, Midnight Theater is also a culinary destination. On September 26th, the venue’s pan-Asian restaurant and bar, Hidden Leaf, will launch its lunchtime menu, adding a delicious selection of banh mi sandwiches and salads to an incredible selection of dim sum, noodles and wok dishes Chef Chai Trivedi (Pranna, Tamarind, Buddakan, Eventi Hotel). Hidden Leaf will then also extend its meal times to Monday through Saturday.
