Community Thanksgiving dinner

Big-hearted volunteers come together to prepare and wrap the 26th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Meals are available for home delivery or curbside pickup on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24 at Fort Bragg Presbyterian Church. To reserve your meal(s), fill out the online form at Dinner. All meal reservations must be received by 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 23 (the day before Thanksgiving). For home deliveries, food deliveries begin at 10:00 am on Thanksgiving Day. For curbside pickup, meals are available for Thanksgiving Day pickup between 1:00pm and 3:30pm. Come to the parking lot at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Bragg, 367 S. Sanderson Way, Fort Bragg.

Thanksgiving Holiday Crafts Fair

At the Thanksgiving Craft Fair you will find a variety of handmade items, from quilts and toys to ironwork, pottery, knitting and crochet, jewelry, paintings, tools and puzzles. The Craft Fair at Fort Bragg City Hall is open from 10am to 5pm on Fridays and from 10am to 3pm on Saturdays.

Free clothing pop-up swap on Fridays

Every Friday (weather permitting) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Fort Bragg Food Bank team of staff and volunteers will be out front at 910 North Franklin Street to provide clothing for the Friday Free Clothing Pop-Up Swap sorting open to customers and community members Stop by and take it home—all for free.

Skate night on Friday

Friday nights from 7:00pm to 9:00pm is Family Skate Night at the Old Rec Gym in Fort Bragg – 213 E Laurel St. The cost is $8 per day and participants under 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. If you have any questions, call 707 964-9446.

Craft fair and mobile animal adoption

The Mendocino Humane Society wants to get you in the Christmas spirit and maybe find a new best friend at the pop-up craft fair and mobile pet adoption. It’s happening Saturday, November 26th in the Haywire parking lot, enjoy hot cocoa. Shop for locally made crafts and meet some of the Humane Society’s adoptable dogs.

Whitesboro Grange Pancake Breakfast

The monthly Pancake Breakfast at Whitesboro Grange is held on the 4th Sunday of the month from 8:00am to 11:30am. You get a stack of pancakes, eggs, ham, orange juice and coffee. Adults $10, children 6-12 $5 and children under 6 eat free.

Vaccine Clinic Fort Bragg

On Mondays, Mendocino County Public Health at 120 West Fir Street in Fort Bragg offers all vaccines, including the 3rd dose for those with compromised immune systems, and booster shots. The opening times are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed for lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sign up for an appointment at MyTurn.gov. A parent or legal guardian must print and sign a Child Consent Form for the Pfizer vaccine. Check if the clinic is open on public holidays. Go to mendocinocountypublichealth.org and click Consent Form.

Mushroom walks on Monday

Take a guided tour of the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens’ Mushroom Collection. The gardens are home to more than 160 species of wild mushrooms in the fall and winter. Enjoy a discovery walk and learn about mycology with naturalist and mycologist Mario Abreu on Monday afternoon. $15 per participant and includes admission to the gardens for the day. Registration is limited to 14 participants per hike, register with MCBG.

COVID testing at Fort Bragg

COVID testing is available in Fort Bragg in front of the Veterans Building on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The location is 383 North Harrison Street.

Tuesday in the tent

Every Tuesday it’s in the Mendocino Coast Clinics tent from 2pm to 5pm. All vaccines are available including the 3rd dose for those with compromised immune systems and booster shots. It’s a drive-through in the white tent on the north side of the clinic, no appointment needed. Booster shots are now available for children 12 years and older if it has been at least 6 months since their second dose if they received Moderna or Pfizer, or at least 2 months if they received Johnson & Johnson. Parental consent is required for people under the age of 18 to receive a vaccine. Please observe all traffic signs and instructions to the vaccination clinic on Tuesday and please do not arrive too early.

Mendocino pantry

A weekly pantry is held every Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Mendocino Presbyterian Church (Preston Hall) on Main Street in Mendocino.

Mendocino Presbyterian Community Tuesday Hot meal

On Tuesday from 1:30pm to 2:30pm we’re hosting a delicious free hot meal at Preston Hall for anyone who wants to. All are welcome.

Members of the Mendocino Coast Model Railroad meet every Wednesday at 7:45 am at the Laurel Deli in Fort Bragg. Guests and/or potential new members are welcome.

COVID testing at Fort Bragg

The Mendocino Coast Clinic is offering free COVID surveillance tests (for those without symptoms) on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. These are different tests and are processed differently. If you have symptoms, call the clinic at 707-964-1251 to be evaluated and see if you need to be tested. If you have been exposed please wait 3 or 4 days before asking for a test. You will not get a real result if the test is done too soon after exposure. The location is 205 South Street.

Albion pantry

The pantry is open on Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It is located in Albion behind the Albion Grocery and US Post Office.
