With Mamoudou Athie in the role of Ramsay Cole Jurassic World: Dominion This summer he may have the opportunity to land his final role Archive 81 as Dan Turner, who delves into deep mysteries and challenges what appears at first glance.
Though the mystery Netflix horror show 2022 hasn’t been picked up for a second season, the first introduced a cast of characters. Some were well liked because of their caring for others, altruistic ambition, and perseverance in the face of danger, while others were not well liked because they were cowardly and willing to endanger or even hurt others for their selfish motivations. From start to finish, the most intriguing part of the show was the character reveals.
10 Cassandra
Appearing innocent enough, this snooty art collector keeps to herself for the most part. And while Cassandra has an eclectic personality, she might be written off as unusual rather than suspicious.
However, Cassandra’s first meeting with Melody was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. When Annabelle shows up, Cassandra shows a whole different side of herself: a manipulative and divisive one. And her interactions with Jess shift from neighborly to predatory. All in all, Cassandra doesn’t have many redeeming qualities, she’s just unlikable.
9 Samuel
Samuel just played the role of a charismatic professor to cover up the evil being done behind closed doors and to elicit the participation of everyone he felt was necessary. He was controlling and determined to go through with his plans, no matter who it might hurt. His apparent disregard for humanity was well disguised, misleading everyone from church members to the police. His selfishness and deceit make him very unlikely.
8th Virgil Davenport
Dan’s Fortune 500 employer, Virgil Davenport, has been playing things close by the vest since the beginning of Dan’s hiring. Virgil is clearly connected to the Visser in some way, and enlists Dan to uncover the mysteries surrounding the fire that burned down the building in the ’90s. This raises suspicions as to his motives and whether or not he was somehow involved in the fire.
Arsine or not, because Virgil wasn’t open to Dan and let him work completely alone and isolated from civilization, he was anything but trustworthy. His Big Brother-style furnishings on the premises made his extreme need for secrecy apparent. And Virgil’s ties to the Visser, who are actually connected to Samuel, automatically make Virgil a menacing and therefore unlikable character.
7 Iris Vos
Iris is an attractive character who can easily convince others to help her follow in her father’s footsteps and awaken the demon Kaelego. Some go willingly and others don’t know exactly what they’re getting into, but all are attracted to Iris enough that they don’t ask many questions.
Unfortunately for her newly hired housekeeper, Rose, Iris is so determined to go through with her plan that she doesn’t mind getting a little blood on her hands. She even decides to let her beloved brother go out of her life instead of stopping killing people. Cold-blooded killers aren’t very likable, but due to Iris’ clear motivations and backstory, she was a bit more likable than the others.
6 Father Russo
Father Russo is Jess’ trusted priest who treats her unconventionally. Melody is suspicious of him because of her personal prejudices against the church as a whole. After his death, however, Melody realizes what an ally he has been all along.
Father Russo has proven he’s right to watch out for Jess. He exhausted all his occult knowledge and religious resources to stop the release of the demon Kaelego. From the beginning he gave everything to protect his fellow human beings, even if it wasn’t always understood that way. And it ended up costing him his life. Father Russo’s determination and willingness to make sacrifices made him a likable character.
5 Jess
Jess worked hard and did odd jobs for all the neighbors to help her single mom. She was a well-known and popular girl with everyone. She became instant friends with Melody and helped her get her foot in the door with the other tenants. Her smile and lightheartedness made it easy for her to be around.
Their loyalty seemed questionable at times. Jess could often be found with a package in hand to deliver, but not knowing its contents or how to use it, she had to help with some obscure work. Being young and naive made it difficult for her to see who to trust, but she showed her intent to be pure and trustworthy every time. With the help of Melody’s cynicism, Jess survived long enough to prove that she would always make the best decisions a friend can make.
4 melody
Melody begins her adventure on the Visser with the aim of finding her mother. However, as Melody makes one mysterious discovery after another, she realizes that there is more going on here than meets the eye. But she doesn’t stop investigating, regardless of the personal risk.
Melody selflessly puts her own ambitions aside and comes to the rescue of those who need her help in the Visser. Each character she meets seems like another challenge for her to help with, and she rises to the occasion even if it means delaying her personal quest. Melody manages to get herself into some very precarious situations, usually by exaggerating the truth. In doing so, she presents her admirable human qualities more clearly with every predicament. Melody is one of the most likable characters on Archive 81.
3 Dan
In keeping with his meticulous work in salvaging the film, Dan’s attention to detail makes him a fantastic detective. Being hired solely for his archival gifts didn’t stop Dan from using all of his observational and problem-solving skills to unravel the web of lies that would hide years of psychic deception. His openness to not only learning about Melody, but to learning from her was key to her liberation.
Dan never let his own safety stand in the way of doing what was necessary or what he thought was right. Whether a mysterious person was searching for him in the woods or a dead person reached through the monitor to choke him, Dan was brave and relentless. Even when he realized that his father was involved with Melody to some extent, the possibility that his discovery clouded his father’s memory didn’t stop him from investigating the facts. Dan was an uncompromising quest for truth and that’s why he’s such a great character.
2 Annabelle
Annabelle is the wild and free-spirited counterpart to the tighter-laced Melody. She says what’s on her mind as soon as she enters the Visser, and there isn’t a single tenant who makes her feel uncomfortable enough to suppress it. She has an irresistible personality that piques Cassandra’s interest and threatens to lure her away from Melody.
Her character is creative and bold, unlike most others who dance around their emotions and are constantly in hiding. Years later, when she meets Dan and Mark, she is still determined to save Melody. She has her ups and downs, but at the end of the day, Annabelle stays true to her best friend. Because she is flawed yet remains devoted, she is one of the most realistic and likable characters.
1 To mark
Even when he has every reason to question Dan’s theories, Mark gives him the benefit of the doubt and does most of the legwork for him while he works on the premises. Dan eventually thought he was only involved in getting material for Mark’s podcast, but Mark kept everything confidential as he promised.
Dan’s personal Google and confidant is the most likable character on the show because he’s utterly trustworthy, always reliable, and more than a comic relief. Mark always stays behind Dan. Mark was willing to jump through hoops, even metaphysical ones, for his friend against the best of his knowledge. His constant sense of humor and grounding personality make the almost unbearable uncertainty bearable.
